Gusto Kong Pumasok sa Trabaho

ADP PH's S.B.S. MENTOR TEAM
I know how hard it is to get up and really look forward to going to work. Its a usual thing na naririnig ko madalas sa mga kakilala ko, even sa jeep tuwing papasok na ako sa trabaho. You can almost see the dread in their eyes and hear it in their voices, as they talk about the stress in their work place.

Wouldn’t you just love a job that was so great, so much fun and so energizing that you actually looked forward to going to work when you got out of bed every day?

MR. J.H.
wait parang narinig kita, anung sabi mo???

that would be great, but it’s not going to happen!

And you’re right, hindi nga yan mangyayare unless you make changes in the way you feel about and relate to your work.

I believe a lot of the dread about going to work is due to feelings of insecurity about our jobs, lack of trust in highly paid executives and time demanding pressures placed upon us in a fast moving economy that expects more and more with what seems like less and less.

JOB SECURITY - This is something that everyone always looks for. It’s hard to feel good or feel secure about working for a company that is constantly on your back pushing for more productivity and higher profits, while paying it’s executives millions of pesos in bonuses. Tapos ikaw walang nakukuha.

Ok, I’ll admit,WALA KA NAMAN TALAGANG DIREKTANG MAGAGAWA PARA BAGUHIN YUNG MGA BAGAY NA KAGAYA NITO. But, you know, you do control the way you feel about yourself and your thoughts about work. Ibig sabihin, YOU CAN CHANGE YOURSELF, even when you can’t make a dent in anything else.

Working Can Be FUN
So, what could you do so that you look forward to work each and every day?

For starters, adopt the attitude that you own the job and it doesn’t own you.

After all, each of us really works for ourselves, not just the company.

If you worked for the company, you wouldn’t always get paid. Just ask any one who started a new business this year. They’ll tell you they often pay themselves last!

When you think about owning your job, consider the positive effect you have on your clients, your guests, your customers and your fellow workers. It has become very obvious over the last 5 years, the more people I help get what they want or need in life, the more prosperous my practice and I become. And of course, the better I feel about my work!

Ang Work ay Parang Basketball...

Next, think about the “cast.” Sinu ba yung mga kasama mo sa work? Do they influence and motivate you in a positive way? Co workers often define living a job and having a fun experience at the same time.

“live YOUR jobs as a fun experience”

Third, you must give yourself permission to HAVE FUN AT WORK just like you have to give yourself permission to help others have fun, you must also allow yourself to have fun at work in order to enjoy success and satisfaction in your job.

A lot of us feel intimidated by thoughts of having fun. For some reason, we tend to associate having fun with feelings of guilt about not doing something “more productive” with our time and energy. Have you ever found yourself mentally “fussing” at your conscious self for not finishing a project before going on vacation?

HALO HALO KTV: Mentor Tambayan
May mga limitations on what you can do to have fun at work, but … if you look hard enough, I’m sure you’ll discover ways to inject a little fun in your everyday work experience.

Kapag nagawa mo yan, mapapansin mo na mas madami kang magagawa in a  shorter period with less frustration about your job. In short, mas magiging productive ka!

Charm & Lykhur - The Pillars of IS & SBS

· Finish the workday first. Solve your pressing job related problems before you leave your work place so you don’t think about and dread the next day.

· Look for ways to energize your fellow workers and you will energize yourself. The same goes for fun. If they’re having fun you will too.

· Make your work area inspiring and suitable for creativity and out of the box thinking. Don’t create distractions that will keep you from ding your job though.

· YOU MUST GIVE YOURSELF A CHANCE & A REASON TO BE THANKED BY THOSE YOU SERVE

· Set a goal to learn something every day at work that will help improve your life or others.

· Set a goal in your work life to build yourself financially and mentally.

· Give yourself an opportunity to be the person you know you will feel proud of. You know, the one that can succeed and be great. Give yourself permission to succeed and reach your greatest potential.

Sigurado ako that you too can develop a “feel good” attitude about yourself and your job if you look for the good, and not just the bad in everything you do.

Working For The Right Reason

and more work!

Why do most of us work?

The answer is simple. “I owe, I owe, so off to work I go”.

Sounds familiar ba? Hindi ko alam if naaalala nyo pa but eto yung kinakanta ng mga dwarfs ni Snow White. I remember it as one of the cartoons I watched from Channel 2 (I know I should mention the station name BUT back in those days, and even until now we mention the channel number instead).

For most of us going to work is not a choice.  We have chosen to eat and live under a roof; so, in the absence of a wealthy benefactor (sa Pilipinas, SUGAR DADDY & SUGAR MOMMY), we must of all necessity set the alarm clock at 6:00PM (kasi for the likes of me, we call ourselves CORPORATE VAMPIRES eh) every workday evening — rain or shine, hail or sleet, sasabit sa jeep or sasakay ng bus (yung iba tricycle or pedecab depende sa lugar... TAXI ka kapag sosyal ka), wait at the terminal so we can work

And as our incomes increase most of us pay tribute to our material culture by “investing” in larger homes, more luxurious cars and toys of all descriptions.  And through this decision we reaffirm our need to spend our weekdays in huge mirrored towers oblivious of the sun. Its not really a rule but it is true for most people.

How important is money as a motivator for going to work?  How did you choose your career?  Did you select your career based upon what you love to do with your time or did you opt for work that pays well?  Do you feel trapped by your lifestyle, such that leaving what you do is too great of a stretch?  Do you look forward to going to work, or do you find the workplace a source of stress and anxiety?

Clearly money is and will always be a significant reason for enduring extensive commutes, bad bosses and monotonous work assignments; however, in the final analysis, it will be just one of many influences.

LAHAT TAYO AY MAYROONG KANYA KANYANG DAHILAN WHY WE GO TO WORK. DO CONSIDER THE QUESTIONS I HAVE BELOW:

First, in your life, does money overpower all other rationales for working? Can you feel the stench of that ominous black shadow of debt and the devastating threat of bankruptcy? Are other motivators such as meaning and purpose subjugated by money fears?  You have a choice to take action and restore the balance in your life.

Second, have you thought about why you are working? Let me rephrase – beyond paying the bills and sustaining your family, what are your underlying motivations for showing up to work everyday?

Online Pawnshops and More...

Online PAWNSHOP by EMC Solutions

Pawn shops (Sanglaan as we call it in the Philippines), or variations of pawn shops, have been around for centuries in one way or another. Ang tawag nila dito dati ay "bartering" wherein a customer who was low on funds might trade one of their valuables in exchange for something they need that the shop owner had. In some cases they would not be able to get their item(s) back kasi parang binebenta na din nila yung items nila, while in others the shop owner may 'loan' them money or the item they need and allow some time for the customer to pay for the goods. Parehong konsepto din yung ginagamit natin sa kasalukuyan; however, now with the advanced technology of today's world, you can actually conduct your pawning online at Online Pawn Shop for pawn shops online. ASTIG di ba?

Securing a loan from online pawnshops are simple, its mabilis & madali. Tapos with the technology that we have today pwedeng isend na lang yung pictures ng items via email or mms. Pwdeng gawin yung transaction at the comfort of your own home! Communication can be done by using various means - text, mms, email, FACEBOOK, etc. Ako I am also using Sulit.com, Blogger, and Google for this purpose.

Pawn shops work by allowing you to bring in items that you can either sell or 'pawn' to get extra money. Depende sa pawnshop na lalapitan mo, the item and the need for that item, you will get money for your item and then will have a certain amount of time to 'buy it back'. If you do not buy it back in time then the pawn shop usually has the right to claim ownership of the item and they may then sell it to another customer.

Minsan kahet masama sa loob natin magsangla when the need arises we have really no choice but to temporarily let go of our item. This is when you would 'temporarily' sale or get a loan for the item and have a certain amount of time to buy it back. However, sometimes you may just want to sell the item for extra cash and don't want the opportunity to buy it back.

REPUTATION is important when dealing with people you don't know over the net. What do they say about him in general? On top of that may mga hackers din. Its best to be cautious, a bit skeptic, and SAFE!

Selling your things or getting loans for your things is not all that online pawnshops has available for you. This means you may find items that you like as well from the pawnshop. At G-PiT Pawnshop, you can do both; you can sell your things (or get a loan for them) or you can shop and purchase other items that you're interested in.

G-PiT Pawnshop is a great way to sell your things or get a loan for them from the comfort of your home. With their easy and private loan procedures, you do not have to supply all of that personal information that most places will likely have you provide to be qualified. Also, with so many others selling their things at Online Pawn, you are sure to find some excellent bargains on items you may want but were not able to afford before.

Anu bang hanap mo, BRAND NEW or SECOND HAND? Don't hesitate to ask. ITS FREE to ask questions. Let  G-PiT Pawnshop know.

Head on over to G-PiT Pawnshop for buys, sale or to get a loan.

Saan Ba Magandang Ilagay Ang Sobra Kong Pera?

Define Investment

Pinanganak ako na mahirap at ayaw kong mamatay ng mahirap. This is the very reason why I am exerting effort to improve the quality of my life. I am NOT YET a millionaire, NOT YET that rich but I can say that I am blessed kaya nga gusto kong ishare yung mga blessings ko by writing the things I know and letting others read it. Kung anu man ang gagawin mo after mo mabasa itong inilimbag ko ay nasa sa iyo na yun.

Going back, so may pera ka, sobrang suweldo, naipon, or kahet saan man galing yan... Karamihan sa atin kasi has the "LIVE AND ENJOY TODAY" attitude. Oh well, kanya kanyang trip yan so pwera basagan please. We all have the right to live our lives the way we choose to.

Negosyo or banko yung usual na naiisip ng iba parati kapag meron silang excess funds. But allow me to share an excerpt from an article published as part of the "Take Charge of your Money" series in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. I have read this one from a not so distant past and I hope you could take the time to read it and see how it can help you... the way it helped me.

The anatomy of a diversified portfolio

There is no right mix of investments that will suit all people. Everyone is different and faces unique circumstances. You have to determine for yourself the right investment portfolio that will work for you given your goals and financial situation. A financial planner may help you out. Study the different investment vehicles available and see where best you can park your money:

  • 1. Bank deposits
Pros: They are safe since the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) insures deposits up to P250,000. They provide steady interest income. They are also easily accessible. A savings and current account can help you manage your day-to-day expenses.
Cons: Interest on savings and current accounts are minimal.
What to do: Consider investing in a time deposit for higher interest. The secret to earning in a time deposit is to hold it for a long term at an interest rate higher than the inflation rate. You can also have investment in foreign currency to take advantage of higher rates depending on the market.
  • 2. Government securities
Pros: They are relatively reliable since these are guaranteed by the Philippine government. They also provide steady income. You can easily access them and sell them through the money market as handled by banks.
Cons: Interest may be lower as compared to other investments.
What to do: Hold some government securities as part of your portfolio. You may want to invest directly in Treasury bills or join a mutual fund or unit investment trust fund investing in fixed income instruments like government securities.
  • 3. Bonds
Pros: As fixed income instruments, they give fixed interest income for a specified number of years. This rate is usually higher than that offered by government securities or bank deposits.
Cons: Bonds come with a risk. They are not guaranteed by an insurance company like PDIC. The higher the interest offered, the higher the risk that the company will default on payments.
What to do: Put some money in bonds depending on your financial goal to let you realize more returns. Hold it for the long term. Choose only bonds with good rating. You may want to join a mutual fund or unit investment trust fund directly investing in bonds to save you the trouble of identifying the best performing bonds in the market.
  • 4. Stocks
Pros: When there is a bull run in the market, stocks perform well. You also gain a lot when you get good stocks during the initial public offering. In the long run, stocks may outperform bonds in terms of yield.
Cons: There is a big risk of losing your capital as market prices change daily.
What to do: Invest only what you can afford to lose. Hold your stock investment for the long term to ride out market price fluctuations. You may also invest in stocks via a mutual fund or a unit investment trust fund.
  • 5. Real estate
Pros: You may earn a lot as the price of property appreciates over time.
Cons: Sometimes the real estate market is down and you may not get a good market value for your property. It is also not very accessible since you need time to sell it off should you need the funds. Maintenance costs may also be high.
What to do: When buying real estate, time it right when you can get a good price for your property. If you can rent it out, you can use the money to invest elsewhere.
So have you decided where to invest?

2012 Dates of Official Philippine Holidays

I dont really know if its beneficial for us to do that kaya lang yun ang nangyayare. Sa akin kasi wala namang effect kung may holiday o wala - no double pay whatsoever. Pero ayos lang, extra comp off naman yun for the likes lof us.

Here’s a summary of the dates officially declared by the Philippine government as holidays for the year 2012.

Unlike in the past years when “Holiday Economics” was implemented, holidays are not anymore moved to the nearest Monday or Friday when they fall during the middle of the week or during the weekend. As a result, “long weekends” are now a rare occurrence.

Christmas Day, December 25, this year falls on a Tuesday. Christmas Eve, December 24, is a Monday and is not declared a holiday. Will the government give this as a Christmas gift to Filipinos and declare Christmas Eve an official holiday? Hahaha!

They better should, otherwise we can expect a lot of people to file their leaves that day and perhaps extend their vacation until New Year’s Day in 2013.

Update: Pres. Noynoy Aquino signed Proclamation No. 361 on April 4, 2012 declaring December 24, 2012 a special non-working holiday. Good to know they have now declared Christmas Eve a holiday. But do you think the two-day holidays (December 24 and 25) are enough for you to celebrate Christmas? Will you go to work on December 26 or file a leave on that day and perhaps extend vacation until New Year 2013?

How to Make Your Money Grow?

The Money Tree
Alam naman na nating lahat how to make money. Siyempre lahat tayo would like to come to a point wherein we are no longer working for money but rather the other way around. So paano ba ito magiging posibilidad? How can I make Money Work For Me??

Well you need not be super smart actually.

Allow me to share a couple of steps I picked up from the past and am still using now. I saw this steps sa lumang journal ko. I want to share it to everyone para naman it would make sense keeping it. If you have questions, then let me know once you are done going through this article.

1. Have specific, tangible goals for your money. How would you like to spend your retirement?

It’s much easier to work for a goal when you can visualize it rather than thinking “Oh, I really should be saving money” simply because that seems like something you should do. It becomes much easier to change your spending and saving habits when you can say to yourself, “I want to put aside money so I can travel more or buy a place in the country.”

2. Automate your savings as much as possible. Your goals and dreams shouldn’t be relegated to what’s left over. They deserve to be made a top priority. There are many ways to do this. Discuss different options with your bank or employer. The important thing is to make the mental shift towards thinking about your goals as non-negotiable, not something that you’ll get around to someday.

So even pagdating sa savings plan, dapat may budget. The key word here is COMMITMENT.

3. Find out where your money is going by keeping a spending journal. Lahat naman tayo may mga pinagkakagastusan. This is more true dun sa mga may pamilya - asawa at anak. Tapos sa mga Pilipino pa uso yung extended families so isipin mo yung string ng budget na kailangan mo gawin either semi-monthly or monthly, depende sa sahod mo.

The point of this isn’t to make you feel bad about wasting money (dahil hindi naman talaga especially if you are using it for the essentials), it is to examine how much happiness you’re getting per peso spent. Once you know this, it’s easier to change your habits so you’re spending money on things that make you happy and eliminating expenses that don’t give you the same bang for the buck.

Gumagastos ka ba dahil KAILANGAN or dahil GUSTO mo lang? This is a battle between WANTS and NEEDS.

4. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and never feel as though you should already know it all.
Huwag magmagaling. Its a fact that we dont know everything. A very helpful habit that I have come to develop over the years is asking questions. I get the chance to share with them, "The only stupid questions are those that aren't asked." I mean all questions make sense. Give it the benefit of the doubt.

Going back, you’d be surprised how little most people know about money, investments and other financial matters. You’re only hurting yourself if you let pride or embarrassment get in the way of asking questions that could help you make the most out of your money.

Likewise, don’t be hesitant to ask questions about how to reach your specific goals. MAGTANONG KA! It will be much easier to make a plan to achieve your goals if you first know the necessary steps. Asked people who you think are credible sources of information for you. Get answers from practitioners. Also, mag research ka din. READ! Kagaya ng ginagawa mo ngayon. (Good Job sayo!!!)

5. Adopt a positive attitude towards money. This is not the same thing as being materialistic. It’s realizing that money is a useful and necessary tool in our society and that there is nothing shameful or shallow in thinking about it or wanting to get more of it, or even not having very much of it at all.
Most of us do carry some negative feelings about money and it’s difficult to move forward without finding a way to reframe those feelings so that we can approach money without fear or shame.

For example, you might believe that money is the root of all evil. Or have a fear of appearing cheap or poor. Or feel like it’s unseemly to demand to be compensated for your time or skills. Hay naku. Money is a tool. It becomes evil kapag ginagamit ito sa BAD na paraan with the vilest intention in mind.

Think about any negative ideas that you have about money or your relationship with it and look for ways to adjust your thinking.

You can take charge of your money and make sure it’s serving you instead of leaving you feeling helpless to deal with it. The key is to understand what you want out of life and find ways to use your money as a tool to make it happen.

Sabihin mo sa akin, how do you plan on making your dreams a reality?
